Redesign!
We’ve redesigned Guitar Notebook to be easier to use and added features many of you have asked for. The best way to learn is to just click around and explore the latest app. Everything you used before is all there. Let’s jump in!
All your pages are now shown as Tabs on the main song page, so you can get to every song with just one tap on the song list, and every page is just one tap away. If you don’t use multiple pages, the app is even simpler - the tabs are hidden. Just add a new page with the toolbar menu to bring back the tabs.
You’ll notice that the Page Lock is gone, replaced by a button that switches from Edit to View when pressed. Edit = unlocked, and View = locked.
The Guitar Settings is gone, because you can now edit the tuning, capo, page style, and notation style directly from the song! All the other Notebook settings can be found in the “Settings”, available from the Song List toolbar menu.
Now, tapping on a chord on any view plays that chord, and there are 3 ways to play: All at Once, Single Strum, and In Sequence. Plus, you can Play All to play all chords in your song.
To get to the Fretboard to manually add notes or use the chord detector, tap the Guitar icon below the chord or at the top of the notation section.
Now you can add Chords directly from the song page with the Chord Keyboard, making it easier than ever to quickly add chords.
Labels are now Folders
All your labels are still in place - as folders. Folders are easier to understand for new users, but the flexibility and power of labels are still there, optionally, as “Virtual Folders”. Create Folder Sets of specific themes, like Phase, Style, and Album, and songs can go into a multiple folders at the same time. Don’t worry you can turn Virtual Folders on and off without deleting songs. When off, only the first folder set is shown, to make it easy.
Song List
Now you can search for songs in your song list

The Folder button at the bottom toolbar switches between a flat song list, or your folders.
Fretboard
Now you view notes as letters, frets, chord degrees (1-3-5-7, etc), or fingering.
Switch between the Chord Keyboard, Chord Detector, and Display options by tapping on the controls title, or swiping left/right across the controls.
Chord Library and Detected chords now show the proper note letter based on the chord degrees (a flat 3rd instead of a sharp second, etc).
Chord notation now enforces one note per string. Fretboard notation allow multiple notes per string. You can change this in the main settings (from the toolbar in the Song List).

Importing songs from photos now automatically goes to that song when complete.
